Mountains invoke change and can transform the world around them. The way of climbing a mountain successfully, or "mountain sense", gets at something deeper than holding all the facts. One must participate with the knowledge as it changes both your perspective and procedures. For MTM, mountains serve as great venues for growing in truth as our minds and bodies are humbled and challenged.
Getting to the top of something is often the goal of climbing, and summit experiences have changed the lives of many. For MTM, the physical top of a mountain is overshadowed by Truth Orientated Practice, or TOP. In everything MTM does, basing decisions on sound discernment of what is true will determine how we move together in the mountains.
A mission can be defined as a vocation or calling, and instills a sense of purpose and direction. MTM certainly is here to adventure and play in the mountains, but in a way that brings forth meaning and intentionality to life. If life is the greatest adventure and mission, then the mountains are all the more a special place to move through.
FOUNDER & LEAD GUIDE .
Originally from the flatlands of South Florida, Caleb discovered climbing while studying at Montreat College in western North Carolina. He knew his climbing journey was beginning after an impressionable month-long trip through Wyoming's Wind River Range. During his undergrad, Caleb recognized the unique nature of exploring and growing in truth through adventure experiences. He had many of these experiences on his own but the ones that changed him the most were those shared with others. After being guided up 6000m peaks in South America, frozen waterfalls in Norway, and granite cliffs in Squamish, Caleb knew his passions for teaching, climbing, and exploration were leading him to pursue guiding as a career. Caleb & his wife Jackie moved to Washington state in 2017 to begin their careers and raise their growing family. Caleb has been working professionally as a guide, instructor, and outdoor educator here in the Northwest since then and has spent time with several companies throughout those years. His passion for sharing life and truth with others through outdoor adventure experiences is what drove him to start Mountain Top Missions in 2022.
